INCREASE TEAM EFFECTIVENESS BY BUILDING PSYCHOLOGICAL SAFETY

Have you ever experienced the "After Meeting Meeting?" This is when team members don't participate during the meeting, but have plenty to say about what they really think after the meeting is over. How about your team? On a scale from 1 (strongly disagree) to 6 (strongly agree), how would your team answer the following question?


We can safely have candid conversation about challenging topics. We feel safe openly sharing our perspectives without fear of negative consequences of self-image, status or career. 


Some of the team consequences of low team psychological safety are:

* Poor strategy (unable to identify and solve real problems)

* Poor collaboration - team members avoid each other and don't share best thinking

* Fake Work - inability to think critically about how the team is spending its time.
